What's inside · Shifts & strike

No ghost crew on strike Monday

Kitchen, bar, greeters, MOOP sweeps, build and strike: everyone contributes, the board shows who is where, and nobody can quietly edit themselves out of the Monday shift.

Quotas & credits

Set a minimum per member, give double credit for the slots nobody wants, and let people rank preferences instead of racing an open spreadsheet.

An audit trail

Signups lock when you say so, and every change is logged. The person who moved themselves out of a strike slot is a story every camp lead can tell; here it simply cannot happen unseen.

Shifts & strike

Strike is a plan, not a hope

Every member declares an exit day before the burn. Strike work is assigned in zones, deposits can be tracked, and the board shows in real time who is still on playa.

Why this module exists

Strike is where camps break. The stories are all the same: a hundred people commit to staying through Tuesday, a dust storm rolls in on Monday, and fifteen are left to tear down a whole camp. Veteran camps converged on the same fixes: assigned shifts instead of “everyone works until it's done”, declared exit days, zones you finish before you leave.

burnmanager builds those fixes in, and keeps the whole thing working offline and printable, because shift boards live where the wifi does not.

Questions camps ask

Does the shift board work on playa?

Yes. It is offline-first and prints beautifully, so the laminated version on the kitchen pole matches the one on everyone's phone.

Can we tie build and strike to perks?

Yes. Track commitments per member and connect them to whatever your camp uses: early arrival passes, ticket priority, deposit returns.

Do you support point systems?

Yes. Credits per shift, weighted slots and a running tally per member, the model big volunteer-run camps already use.
